I became a doctor to serve patients. The dedication, drive, and enthusiasm to be a compassionate doctor are traits I learned as a former professional athlete and I continuously apply those qualities to my journey as a doctor. My primary clinical interests are cancer patients particularly the surgical care of patients with melanoma, skin cancers, soft tissue cancers and other general surgical oncology. My favorite part of being a surgeon who specializes in cancer is that each patient is truly unique and there are no routines; this allows for a personal approach in which plans are made together with the patient. Finally, I believe that Duke is a place where success and achievements in patient care are the direct result of highly productive teams that include highly talented students, residents, nurses, support staff, and physicians.
