I enjoy building relationships with my patients and making sure they are actively involved in setting goals for their health and collaborating on how to best accomplish those goals with available therapies. I promote lifestyle practices that lower blood pressure, slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, and enhance quality of life. To lead by example, I exercise regularly by running with a local group and participating in fitness competitions with my husband. I also enjoy experimenting in the kitchen by creating healthier versions of traditional dishes.
My main clinical interest is the treatment of high blood pressure. I am certified by the American Society of Hypertension as a high blood pressure specialist. My research focuses on identifying lifestyle strategies, such as diet and exercise, that lower blood pressure. I am also interested in developing ways to help patients become more successful at making healthy lifestyle choices.
