About Me

As a pediatric otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon, I provide kids and their families a unique perspective and understanding of the natural clinical history of medical problems that may arise. I am passionate and dedicated to helping kids with both routine and complex head and neck problems, including performing cochlear implant surgery, and value the natural collaborative nature of taking care of children and their families. Being involved with kids and their families is one of the most gratifying and satisfying privileges that I have had the fortune of experiencing. I hope to continue to build these relationships and watch the kids that I help take care of grow up.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

Advancing state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment and developing innovations in caring for children is an important aspect of my professional career. My areas of interest include airway disorders, hearing, and vascular anomalies. I am very interested in furthering our understanding of minimally invasive and open treatment strategies for treating airway disorders. Vascular anomalies are disorders of blood vessels that affect the skin and other organs that are not cancers but can have malignant behavior. I am interested in continuing to investigate optimal management strategies.

Insurance

Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
