I am a psychologist and work primarily with adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts. When I work with a family or a young person, I try to understand what they are experiencing and going through, as opposed to telling them what to do. My approach is to empower and support – addressing whatever is bothering them, encouraging them to take a different perspective, and offering different coping strategies. I really appreciate the opportunity to help people when they are in periods of high need and see them move to a place where they feel better about themselves and are more in control of their lives. I see my role as helping to go from a path of upheaval, either because of certain decisions or life circumstances, to creating a path where they would like to be, particularly over the long term.
