About Me
I was first inspired to become an orthopaedic surgeon after witnessing the remarkable impact a simple cast had on healing my childhood injuries and enabling me to resume playing sports. Now, my primary career objective is to assist children and young adults in reclaiming the joy of participating in the activities they love without pain. To achieve this, I make it a point to understand my patients' goals and work with them and their families to craft a tailored recovery plan through shared decision-making. My specific areas of interest include hip problems such as hip dysplasia and Perthes disease in both children and young adults, as well as managing growth abnormalities in younger patients. Guiding patients through their formative years and aiding them in reaching their peak physical potential is what I find most motivating.
Clinical Focus and Research
I believe research is critical to caring for patients. Through research, we better understand the biology of diseases, their impact on patients, and the outcomes of our treatments. My research focuses on improving outcomes by enhancing our surgical treatments and gaining a better understanding of our patients’ experiences, allowing us to tailor our treatments to improve their lives. Specifically, my research concentrates on conditions affecting the hip in both children and young adults.
Ratings and Reviews
The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
Insurance
Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
