I am an optometrist who works between the comprehensive adult and pediatric clinics. My area of specialty is in contact lenses for children and binocular vision (how well eyes work together as a team). I enjoy co-managing pediatric specialty lens fittings for situations including: post-operative congenital cataract, corneal scarring and keratoconus. I strive to listen to each patient’s needs and formulate a solution that is unique to their situation. When patients see me, they are also tapping into our entire network of providers, since we collaborate as a team to provide the best care possible. I was inspired to go into optometry, because I wore glasses as a child and personally know the value of being able to see well from the time you are young. Good vision is important to many of our daily functions and greatly impacts quality of life. Many times, children who cannot see well are labeled as not being good learners and held back—while the problem may be as simple as correcting their vision.
