I am the medical director for the inpatient endocrinology consultation services at Duke University Hospital and associate medical director of endocrinology at Duke Regional Hospital. My goal is to optimize the care of inpatients with endocrinology disorders, with diabetes being the most common condition we treat. Our team collaborates with surgical and medical services, pharmacy, nursing, and nutrition in an effort to provide the most current, evidence-based medical care for our patients living with diabetes and other endocrinology disorders.
My work focuses on ways to provide outstanding care for people with diabetes. My primary research interests include diabetes risk assessment and prevention, as well as investigating treatments for improving glycemic control in the hospital and reducing diabetes-related complications. My previous research involved Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and metabolic issues associated with PCOS.
