About Me

Learn More About Me

I am an anesthesiologist and pulmonary medicine specialist who specializes in high risk anesthesia and undersea and hyperbaric medicine. I see patients who wish to scuba dive or travel to high altitude, or who have experienced problems while swimming or diving and also patients who may need hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

Research interests include the study of cardiorespiratory function in humans exposed to environmental conditions including diving and high altitude, gas exchange during diving, the pathophysiology of high altitude pulmonary edema, the effect of anesthesia and postoperative analgesia on pulmonary function and control of breathing. Ongoing human studies include the use of respiratory muscle training for divers and mechanisms of central nervous system oxygen toxicity.
