I became interested in medicine at a young age watching my grandfather take care of patients in his home country. Gastroenterology specifically appealed to me because it incorporates a strong preventative component through colon cancer screening and involves many different systems in the body from the pancreas to the liver to the intestines. In my practice, I see adults with common gastrointestinal diseases, such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, change in bowel habits, or abdominal pain. I have a growing interest in inflammatory bowel disease. In terms of patient care, I follow the philosophy that it is important to treat individuals, not just medical conditions. I strive to build a partnership with each patient to create a comprehensive plan for optimal health. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with my family, and exploring the Triangle.
