My specialty is in orthopaedic trauma and extremity reconstruction. I care for patients with fractures and traumatic injuries to the arms, legs, and pelvis. We treat everything from a foot fracture and broken wrists to someone who has been in a car accident and has multiple fractures. These injuries may require a cast, a splint, or surgery to realign the bones and allow my patients to get back their pre-injury activity level. In addition to acute injuries, I also care for those with past injuries, and as a result, have significant disability, pain, or arthritis. This could be related to fractures not healing, healing in a poorly aligned position, or the development of subsequent infection. I also specialize in the treatment of shoulder arthritis and patients that may require shoulder replacements. We have an outstanding shoulder rehabilitation team here at Duke Hospital that allows my patients to get back to the activity they deserve.
