Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
Laura Ann Previll, MD, MPH
I enjoy talking to people and offering support for their challenges. Many of my patients are still quite active and my goal is to help keep it that way. I hope to continue to be a champion for older adults and their families as they navigate chronic disease, memory problems, changes in mobility and falls. I enjoy living in Durham as it allows me to see my family more often in eastern North Carolina. I am originally from West Virginia and enjoy the outdoors. I love to cook and spoil my two nieces who continue to surprise me. I feel privileged to do the work I do.
Clinical Focus and Research
I have prior involvement in research related to Alzheimer’s Disease and arthritis earlier in my training. Through my work in public health I am interested in evaluating and improving community based programs for older adults. Currently, I am involved in a regional grant aimed at improving the care for older adults in a variety of health care settings.
